THE DUGUKAN MARTIAL ARTIST IS A HEALING ARTIST

A true martial artist is, at heart, also a healing artist. While the fundamental purpose of martial arts is self-defense—to protect oneself, loved ones, and others from harm in dangerous situations—practitioners must recognize that not all adversaries are external or obvious. Beyond the threat of human attackers, every martial artist faces a more formidable and insidious enemy: illness. Throughout history, countless masters of Pangamot, Eskrima, and other martial disciplines have successfully defended themselves against physical threats, only to succumb to illnesses such as diabetes, renal failure, and Alzheimer’s. Their martial prowess shielded them from blades and blows, but often their training lacked the knowledge and practices needed to safeguard their own health.

To truly embody the essence of martial arts, one must be prepared to confront both visible and invisible enemies. These adversaries include:

  1. Natural illnesses: Such as cancer, diabetes, and degenerative diseases, now commonly diagnosed with modern technology.

  2. Supernatural illnesses: Mysterious ailments that evade conventional diagnosis, thought to have spiritual or metaphysical origins.

  3. Spiritual sickness: Disorders rooted in spiritual imbalance, negative karma, or a person’s divine calling left unfulfilled.

  4. Mental and emotional poisoning: The most subtle adversaries—ignorance, negative ego, and toxic thoughts—that can undermine well-being.

The Dugukan Martial Arts System goes beyond the physical, adhering to the principles of Spiritual Martial Arts rooted in the ancient Mystical Order Formations. These teachings recognize that true mastery involves not only arts, culture, and sports, but also encompasses healing, longevity, rejuvenation, and the ultimate realization of the soul. Dugukan’s philosophy is timeless and eternal, grounded in mysteries that transcend space and time and draw from the divine foundation of life. Such wisdom cannot be accessed by intellect alone, but by awakening the spirit and embracing deeper understanding.

Practicing Dugukan means recognizing that martial arts are more than just self-defense or sport. They are a code of life—a foundation for personal growth, wellness, and spiritual ascension. The system teaches that there are “101 ways to explain one hundred ways,” symbolizing the infinite lessons and meanings within martial arts. At the core lies the path of Absolute Oneness, which encompasses four essential lessons:

  1. Wisdom

  2. Nature/Naturalness

  3. Perfection

  4. Divine Union or Ultimate Ascension

In this holistic view, a martial artist is called to become a healing artist as well. The Dugukan Martial Arts System nurtures this ideal by guiding practitioners to balance their physical and spiritual foundations, promoting health, wellness, and personal transformation. Through the integration of martial skills and traditional healing arts, Dugukan empowers individuals to connect more deeply with themselves, others, and the natural world—contributing not only to their own growth, but also to the healing and ascension of life itself.
